Rachel Boenig
company apprentice (2025)
Dragon staff, lyra, contemporary and modern dance, ballet, tap, hiphop, yoga
Hydrangea Sky shows: (November 2025)
My name is Rachel Boenig and I have been practicing movement consistently since 2019. When I was a teen I did many forms of dance such as Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and more to widen my horizons with dance. In 2019, I started my daily yoga practice along with exploring free-form dance as a way to get more in touch with my body and movement. Since 2023, I have trained passionately on lyra and flow arts. I feel so dedicated and called to these art forms, to learning and honing my craft, and I take time out of every single day to drill, practice, and/or choreograph. I love putting combos and moves together to tell stories and show emotion and I put my all into performing.
I have choreographed my own performances for the Flagstaff Foundry showcasing fire spinning for the monthly shows and the fundraiser at Club Vibe to raise money for chairs. I have also performed fire spinning at Mosaic Gathering with my fire dragon staff. I have formulated a narrative circus show at Momentum Aerial, organizing from the ground up from the story itself and the characters to songs and choreography, performing lyra and dragon staff while also incorporating silk fans choreography as supporting a solo act. I love colliding worlds when it comes to props and apparatuses.
Rachel began her apprenticeship studying with Hydrangea Sky Movement Arts June of 2025.
