Anthology: Storytelling & Poetry in MotionHydrangea Sky Movement Arts is a multi-disciplinary movement company exploring the space from floor to air through dance, acrobatics, martial arts, flow arts, and aerial arts based out of Northern Arizona. Anthology follows the success of Ephemera, Unfurl, and CIRQUE – three original shows each premiered to sold-out audiences at Hydrangea Sky’s home venue, Old Town Center for the Arts. Hydrangea Sky is a professional performance company dazzling audiences with high flying feats, mesmerizing movement arts, and a storytelling soul. Anthology is a collection of stories shared through motion, exploring a range from the poignant beauty in the mundane - life’s collection of simple sequential moments - to the ethereal magic of the otherworldly and extraordinary. A man grapples repeatedly with the Sisyphean task to wake up from a deep sleep. A Forest Fairy Queen evokes the elements and summons both earthly and celestial creatures in a celebratory starlight dance. A dancer stricken with grief and loss navigates through a series of obstacles that ultimately give rise to joy, serenity, and acceptance. A flustered librarian pursues a cheeky mouse who has wrought chaos into her sacred reading space. Audiences will enjoy these stories and many more. The event will include an intermission, concession stand with snacks, and signed cast posters available for purchase. "Anthology" photographed by Armando Kiyama
